Sonntag Grant Photobook Open Call
The Sonntag Grant for Photography, in collaboration with Replika Publishing, invites FLINTA (female, lesbian, inter, non-binary, trans, agender) artists to apply for a photobook open call. They are looking for projects that can challenge the boundaries of the book as form. In particular they aim to support artists and work that might not otherwise find a path to publication and offers space for under-recognised voices and projects rooted in conceptual depth, material inquiry, and artistic dialogue.
Submissions must include a short biography, a description of the project you want to submit, a download link using that contains 15 to 20 low-resolution photos from the project you are applying with. In case a dummy or any other supporting material exists, additional materials can be included. The download link remains active for at least 7 days. Projects should be finished or at an advanced stage of development.
Sonntag Grant and Replika Publishing are primarily interested in projects rather than fully developed book dummies. The selected artist should be open to further developing the project in collaboration with Replika Publishing, including feedback and editorial direction during the book-making process.
One artist is selected to work directly with Replika Publishing to produce a new photobook. The print run will include at least 350 copies, with 50 copies going to the artist.
After completion of the project, there will be a book launch event hosted at Bildband Berlin, with travel costs up to €300 and accommodation for the event covered.
Deadline: May 31rd 2026
Award: Book Pubblication
