Der Greif has invited Torbjørn Rødland to guest-edit Issue 17.

The theme for the open call: “One Day Soon.”

The world is still out there. Our job, now as always, is to find our places in it. A way through it.

Rødland wants to see the medium of photography opening up and pushed forward, beyond conceptualism and critical appropriation, towards a grounded but updated mysticism. How are you as photographers and image makers responding to these immense technological and cultural shifts in response to the rise of generative AI? Speculate about the scope and the impact of the threshold period we’re currently in. What are you thirsty for now?

We are eagerly welcoming all forms of photographic work and visual approaches, from analogue to digital. This is NOT an opportunity looking only for promptography!
