DESCRIPTION:\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nThe association Polycopies & Co. was established in 2022 to bring together collectors and fans of photography books. With a keen interest in the future of photography publications, its projects promote and support photographers. To this end, the association awards one or more grants each year to support a photographer to produce a book or to contribute financially to a photography project that will result in the publication of a book.\nPolycopies & Co. wishes to help a photographer promote their work and photographic practices through the publication of a monograph. This grant is designed to encourage and showcase the photographic work of a professional photographer who needs financial support to produce a published work. The sum of the grant awarded to the candidate selected by the jury will be set each year by the administrative board in line with the association’s financial resources. Polycopies & Co. may award more than one grant per year.\nCreated in 2014, Polycopies is an non-profit for the distribution and promotion of independent photographic publishing (books, multiples, paper objects and experimental publishing practices).\nEvery year, to coincide with Paris-Photo, Polycopies organizes its festival and transforms the Concorde-Atlantique boat and the quays of the Seine in front of it, into a large ephemeral bookshop fully dedicated to photography books. Visitors are welcomed by over eighty French and international publishers and booksellers. A host of events, round tables, signings, professional meetings, portfolio readings, Polycopies has become a meeting place for many amateurs, collectors, authors and publishers who like to share and confront their ideas on photography practices, understand the stakes of publishing, exchange their discoveries and favorite books, or submit dummies and see new projects being initiated.\nIn 2022, a second association was created. Backed by Polycopies, Polycopies &Co brings together collectors to promote the work of photographers and photography book publishing, by providing financial support for projects. Polycopies &Co is supported by the French Ministry of Culture.\nAward\nThe association will award a grant to a photographer for a book project or offer a financial contribution to a project whose principal output will be a book.
